The New York Mets have done a little mixing with their rotation on Friday as the result of an injury. FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reporter that Jacob deGrom, who was scheduled to start today against the Washington Nationals, was pushed back a day due to a stiff neck injury. In his absence, Matt Harvey will slide into the start and deGrom will go on Saturday.
It's an easy decision to make for New York. Harvey's schedule moves up a day but he should still be good to go for his normal workload in this start. Though given it's the Nationals' lineup, you will want to avoid him in daily fantasy baseball today. The 28-year-old has pitched well to start the season with just five runs allowed in 18 1/3 innings pitched and a 15/3 K/BB ratio.
deGrom, who owns a 1.89 ERA and 0.84 WHIP across three starts this year with just four runs allowed and a 22/4 K/BB ratio, will also face the Nationals in his start. Right now this seems like a very minor injury that shouldn't cost deGrom any time, so fantasy owners have nothing to be concerned about. If anything changes or more news becomes available, we'll update you.
