The New York Mets are a walking MASH unit. That was brought to an entirely new level in Sunday's eventual 23-5 loss to the Washington Nationals.
Starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard exited the game with what appeared to be a LAT strain in his throwing arm after retiring just four batters. Syndergaard will now head back to New York for an MRI, which could prove to face the ace starter on to the disabled list.
Syndergaard had entered the game with a 1-2 record and 3.29 ERA in four starts this season.
If the starter is forced to the DL, he will join a whole host of other Mets on the shelf. That list already includes Yoenis Cespedes, Lucas Duda, Wilmer Flores, Seth Lugo, Steven Matz, Brandon Nino and David Wright. Ouch.
