With the Chicago Cubs reportedly zeroing in on Ben Zobrist, former All-Star Starlin Castro quickly hit the trade market at the winter meetings.
His appearance on the block didn't last too long.
The New York Yankees have reportedly acquired Castro from the Cubs in exchange for pitcher Adam Warren and infielder Brendan Ryan.
Castro, 25, hit .265 with 11 homers and 69 RBI's last season for the Cubs. A total of 104 of his 133 starts came at shortstop, a position Castro has played the most throughout his impressive Major League career.
Though, with Didi Gregorius locked in at short, Castro will likely play second base for the Yankees. It's a heck of a move for an organization that has continued to avoid high-priced free agents throughout the offseason.
Warren, 28, is a former fourth-round pick of the Yankees. He logged a 3.29 ERA and 1.17 WHIP in 43 games (17 starts) last season. Warren will likely add another capable arm to the Cubs' bullpen with an ability to spot start.
