NLCS Game 3 Preview: St. Louis Cardinals vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

If game one and two are any indication of what the rest of this series will be like then get used to a lot of great pitching. Game one ended with a Carlos Beltran walk off and game two was a battle of pitching. The Cardinals are now up two games to zero and heading to Los Angeles with a lot of momentum.

The game three pitching matchup features Adam Wainwright for the Cardinals and Hyun-Jin Ryu for the Dodgers. If you are a Dodgers fan you have to be a bit worried considering the last appearance he had in Atlanta. He allowed four runs over three innings with six hits. He has never pitched this many innings in a season as he is at 195 total innings pitched. His regular season was very well for a rookie posting a 3.00 ERA.

The Cardinals have their ace taking the bump with Wainwright facing off. He is 4-0 in the postseason and won the fifth and final game of the NLDS. He faced the Dodgers earlier this year and only surrendered three runs. His overall stats on the regular season were great also. His 19-9 record along with a 2.94 ERA and 219 strikeouts has put him in the Cy Young conversation.

Neither of these teams have performed well offensively. The Cardinals will look for their star player Yadier Molina and the October clutchness that is David Freese. The Dodgers are hoping for Yasiel Puig to come out of his funk. He went 0-4 in his last game striking out all four teams, also known as the Golden Sombrero.

This game is the most crucial game in the series for the Dodgers so maybe coming back to LA will be exactly what this team needs to keep the magic going. No pun intended.
