As the Pittsburgh Pirates try to climb back into the thick of the playoff race, their rotation has started to come together. Now they could turn to top prospect Tyler Glasnow to take the hill on Saturday against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Pirates manager Clint Hurdle said Glasnow confirmed to reporters Glasnow is a candidate to start on Saturday. Hurdle said Glasnow is "definitely one of those guys we're talking about". Given Pittsburgh's options, Glasnow not only looks like the probable option to start on Saturday, he seems to be the only real option.
Glasnow was scheduled to start on Saturday in Triple-A, so he would pitch on normal rest if he was promoted to start tomorrow. In his MLB debut earlier this season, Glasnow allowed four runs and three hits across 5 1/3 innings with five strikeouts.
Philadelphia presents an appealing fantasy matchup for a pitcher so if Glasnow gets the start he could be a nice, affordable starting pitcher in DFS tomorrow.
