Even after yielding six earned runs in his rehab start this week, the Boston Red Sox have decided to activate starting pitcher David Price.
Price will make his first start of the season Monday against the Chicago White Sox. He's missed the first seven weeks of the season with an elbow injury.
From a fantasy perspective, it makes a ton of sense to take a wait-and-see approach here. Price's pitch count is expected to be limited in the early going and we're just not too sure whether he's ready to dominate after missing so much time. This is magnified in the DFS world, where you have your pick of the litter.
Price posted a high (by his standards) 3.99 ERA in 35 starts for the Red Sox last season, his first with the team. He also put up 228 Ks in 230 innings, making him an elite-level fantasy producer from the bump.
