The Colorado Rockies will give struggling outfielder Carlos Gonzalez the day off Thursday against the Washington Nationals and starting pitcher Gio Gonzalez.
Maybe this will jumpstart the former All-Star, who is hitting at a horrendous .211 clip with two homers and five RBI. Remember, CarGo is coming off a 2016 campaign that saw him hit .298 with 25 homers and 100 RBI.
With Gonzalez sitting, Gerardo Parra and Pat Valaika will man the corner outfield position for Thursday's series finale against Washington.
