The Kansas City Royals are going to be without another key cog in their lineup for at least the next two weeks. The defending World Series champs placed star outfielder Lorenzo Cain on the 15-day DL with a strained hamstring.
Kansas City also called up Brett Eibner from Triple-A Omaha to take Cain's spot on the roster.
Cain, 30, is hitting .290 with eight homers, 39 RBI's and six stolen bases on the season. Though, his on-base percentage and OPS are both considerably down from the past two seasons.
The outfielder joins Mike Moustakas, who is out for the season with a torn ACL, on the shelf.
Eibner is a 27-year-old former second-round pick of the Royals. In brief stints in the Majors this season he's hitting .297 with one homer and seven RBI. The expectation here has to be that Jarrod Dyson will fill in for Cain in center. Outside of steals, Dyson brings nothing of real substance to the table from a DFS perspective.
