Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera had to exit Friday's game against the Minnesota Twins with a groin injury. He was then promptly placed on the disabled list by the Tigers on Saturday.
This could be a nagging, long-term injury for the 34-year-old 11-time All-Star. Groin injuries can be tricky, which might force the Tigers to take it easy with their future Hall of Fame slugger.
With Cabrera out of action, John Hicks have been recalled from Triple-A and was in the team's starting lineup Saturday.
