Veteran starting pitcher Tim Lincecum will make his Los Angeles Angels debut on Saturday against the Oakland Athletics in a game that will also feature A's pitcher Andrew Triggs making his first Major League start.
After signing with the Angels last month, Lincecum made three starts for Triple-A Salt Lake City, posting a 2.65 ERA and 0.77 WHIP in three starts. The two-time Cy Young winner also struck out 19 in 17 innings of work.
This will be Lincecum's first appearance in the Majors since late June of last year as a member of the San Francisco Giants. It will also be his first career start as a member of a team other than the Giants.
Lincecum, 32, posted a 7-4 record with a 4.13 ERA and 1.48 WHIP in 15 starts for the Giants a season ago. He's definitely someone to keep an eye on over the next couple starts.
Should the veteran perform at a high level, he'll become a decent under-the-radar DFS play. Though, there's no reason to expect the performances we saw earlier in his career when he earned two Cy Young awards, won double-digit games in seven consecutive seasons and struck out 200-plus in four consecutive seasons.
