Top 25 Fantasy Baseball Options for Dynasty Leagues

Dynasty and keeper leagues are a little bit different than your casual fantasy baseball league. These leagues feature multiple seasons, as there is carry over from rosters after each year. While there are many different rules and variations of settings for dynasty leagues, the same players are desired the most in all of them, since owners will want to hold on to the best players for multiple seasons.  This list will include the top 25 players, based upon a formula I came up with.  This formula used the last two seasons’ fantasy rankings, the last two seasons’ stats and also the stats that players have compiled this season in fantasy leagues.  I also took into account how young some of the players were. Some of the players may not be producing at the highest level currently, but based on statistics, the opinion of other sports analysts and the opinion of myself, these are the players who I believe will most likely have the most success in fantasy baseball over the next few season. Without any further ado, here are the top 25 players for dynasty leagues.

1. Ryan Braun – MIL – OF
2. Miguel Cabrera – DET – 3B
3. Andrew McCutchen – PIT – OF
4. Matt Kemp – LAD – OF
5. Robinson Cano – NYY – 2B
6. Mike Trout – LAA – OF
7. Joey Votto – CIN – 1B
8. Troy Tulowitzki – COL – SS
9. Carlos Gonzalez – COL – OF
10. Justin Upton – ATL – OF
11. Clayton Kershaw – LAD – SP
12. Prince Fielder – DET – 1B
13. Felix Hernandez – SEA – SP
14. Buster Posey – SFG - C
15. Ian Kinsler – TEX – 2B
16. Bryce Harper – WAS – OF
17. Jason Heyward – ATL – OF
18. Evan Longoria – TBR – 3B
19. Adam Jones – BAL – OF
20. Starlin Castro – CHC – SS
21. Paul Goldschmidt – ARI – 1B
22. Justin Verlander – DET – SP
23. Stephen Strasburg – WAS – SP
24. Dustin Pedroia – BOS – 2B
25. Chase Headley – SDP – 3B

There is certainly plenty to be debated about this list, but it focuses on younger players who are entering their primes and who will give fantasy owners the most production over the next 3-4 seasons. There are some veteran players like Miguel Cabrera and Justin Verlander, but it is expected that these players will be solid fantasy options in the next few seasons as well as the rest of this year. If you are in a dynasty or keeper league, I’d encourage you to make a move for some of these players.  Do you agree or disagree with the list? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
