A week after Minnesota Twins third baseman Miguel Sano punched Detroit Tigers catcher James McCann, he will now serve his one-game suspension. The announcement came on Tuesday, a few days after Sano made his appeal and then received word his appeal was rejected.
The 23-year-old will sit out Tuesday's game against the Chicago White Sox after the team had an off day on Thursday. We'll likely see Eduardo Escobar slide in at the hot corner and Kennys Vargas start as the designated hitter.
So far this season, Sano carries an outstanding .300/.431/.640 slash line with eight home runs, 28 RBIs, a 1.071 OPS and a 192 wRC+. The absence of Sano from lineups will hurt fantasy owners for a day, but he'll return to being a must-start fantasy player immediately upon his return.
