Often player absences are the result of an unfortunate injury or sad news, but that's not the case with Chicago White Sox outfielder Melky Cabrera. The outfielder will miss the team's next three games so he can be there for the birth of his fourth child.
Cabrera, who has just eight hits in 31 at bats this season, is expected to miss the team's series against the Minnesota Twins, but will return on Monday. In his absence, outfielder Willy Garcia received the call up from Triple-A Charleston and will provide outfield depth over the weekend. Obviously Garcia should be off the fantasy radar.
Congratulations to Cabrera for the upcoming birth of his daughter and for getting to witness the birth of his child for the first time. When he returns on Monday, he will continue to serve as a depth outfielder in standard leagues or OF3 in deep fantasy leagues.
