In what shouldn't be considered too much of a surprise, the New York Yankees place star catcher Gary Sanchez on the 10-day disabled list after he exited Saturday's game against the Baltimore Orioles.
Sanchez left the game following an awkward swing on a foul ball in the fifth inning. It originally looked to be a hand injury, but Sanchez was later diagnosed with a right biceps strain.
This is surely some unfortunate news for the youngster after he posted a .299 average with 20 homers and 42 RBI in just 201 at-bats as a rookie last season.
With Sanchez on the shelf, a weaker-hitting Austin Romine will take over as the Yankees' primary catcher. Look elsewhere for a fantasy fill-in until Sanchez returns.
