47-Year-Old Renzo Gracie Interested in UFC Return After Metamoris 5

UFC veteran and decorated Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Renzo Gracie, 47, has a heavily anticipated grappling match with Kazushi Sakuraba at Metamoris 5 on November 22.

Afterwards, the 22-fight cage veteran wants another shot inside the Octagon.

Appearing on Monday’s edition of Ariel Helwani’s The MMA Hour, Gracie explained that another stint in the UFC is his next goal (transcription per MMA Mania).

“And soon, believe it, after Sakuraba, I'm coming for UFC. I am serious as hell, my friend, believe it,” he said on the show.

Gracie hasn’t competed in MMA in four-and-a-half years, a lopsided TKO loss to Matt Hughes at UFC 112 in April 2010.

Sakuraba and Gracie first squared off inside the PRIDE ring all the way back in August 2000, where the Japanese legend shockingly broke Gracie’s arm with a kimura.

That was many moons ago though, as Sakuraba has lost six of his past eight fights, not competing since September 2011.

Gracie vs. Sakuraba headlines Metamoris 5, which takes place in Long Beach, California.

Should Gracie win in impressive fashion, should UFC President Dana White give him another shot despite having a lot of mileage at this point in his career?
