Unbeaten UFC women’s bantamweight contender Bethe Correia is still gunning for a crack at champion Ronda Rousey and she certainly doesn’t mind using her mouth to pique some interest in the potential matchup.
“The Pitbull” spit some serious venom at the “Rowdy” one in an interview with MMA Fighting over the weekend.
"I want her to beat Zingano fast and without injuries, so we can fight right after. I want to be the one to take her title,” Correia said. “I will knock Ronda out in the first round, but first I’ll do her a favor and knock that mole off her face with a punch."
"People know me as the horsewomen killer. I killed two already, and I will kill the number one next.”
The Brazilian striker has been angling for a crack at the “Rowdy” one since she scored a brutal knockout over Shayna Baszler at UFC 177 in August, the second member Correia defeated from Rousey’s faction: “The Four Horsewomen.”
Correia, 9-0, is going to be on the sidelines until March after retina surgery, though with Rousey next defending her title against Cat Zingano at UFC 184 in February, it’s possible Correia could fight the winner in the summer.
Rousey, 10-0, has finished all of her opponents and has only seen one fight go outside the first round. Her last contest only lasted 16 seconds before she scored a TKO over Alexis Davis at UFC 175 in July.
