Conor McGregor Wants Diego Sanchez at UFC 180, Dana White Says It Won’t Happen

UFC featherweight contender Conor McGregor wants to settle the score with Diego Sanchez at UFC 180, but UFC President Dana White says it isn’t going to happen.

“The Notorious” briefly set the MMA world on fire when he tweeted he would be fighting Sanchez at the Mexico pay-per-view early Thursday morning.

However, White quickly refuted the claim via EPSN’s Brett Okomoto.

Further complicating the situation, is that “The Nightmare’s” original opponent for the November 15 card, “Stormin’” Norman Parke admitted an MCL injury will indeed keep him off the card.

While McGregor hasn’t competed at 155 pounds since a KO victory in December 2012, he captured the 155-pound Cage Warriors Fighting Championship title with the win and was already the reigning CWFC featherweight champ at the time.

In one of the most controversial decisions of all time, was awarded an almost unfathomable win over Ross Pearson at UFC Fight Night 42 in June.

Sanchez is now just 2-3 since February 2012 and both victories had at least a hint of debate to go along with them.
