Dana White: Wanderlei Silva Still Hasn’t Signed Chael Sonnen Bout Agreement

UFC President Dana White is finally corroborating Chael Sonnen's recent claims that arch nemesis Wanderlei Silva won't sign a contract to fight him at a May 31 card in Brazil.

The UFC's head honcho confirmed the news on Thursday, per MMA Fighting, but would not get into the specifics of the situation.

"There's a lot more to that story than (I can say)," White said about the grudge match being in limbo. "This is a frustrating job. S--t happens to me every day. ... It'll get done. We'll get it done.

"He's not balking," White said of Silva. "Not even a little bit. It's not over money either. I can't tell you. It has to do with the show (TUF Brazil 3). It has to do with the show, that's all I can tell you ... We can revisit this is a couple months."

Sonnen, who is head coaching TUF Brazil 3 opposite Silva, has been calling out his Brazilian counterpart on the matter for weeks.

“If you wanna dance you gotta pay the band. If you wanna sing you gotta be the man.Cant retire this hack Until he signs the contract. #sign”,” Sonnen tweeted on February 25.

Tensions have been building between Sonnen and "The Axe Murderer" for over two years now, at one point linked to headline UFC Fight Night 26 in August.

However, Silva never agreed to the bout due to nagging injuries and "The American Gangster" instead squared off with fellow Brazilian slugger Mauricio "Shogun" Rua.

The light heavyweight showdown was briefly linked to the co-main event of UFC 173 on May 24 in Las Vegas, but has since been announced to headline an unnamed UFC Fight Night event in Brazil on May 31.

Will Sonnen vs. Silva go down as planned or will behind the scenes drama deprive fans of this long-awaited light heavyweight scrap?
