Former Strikeforce middleweight champion Cung Le had his one-year suspension for human growth hormone rescinded on Tuesday, but his most recent opponent remains skeptical of the situation.
Speaking with ESPN, Michael Bisping ripped his 42-year-old counterpart, despite the suspension being uplifted.
"Regarding the suspension being lifted, listen, I'm not a scientist," said Bisping. "I don't know all the details. I know the blood samples were destroyed, so it looks like, to me, he got off on a loophole or a technicality."
UFC officials reversed their initial ruling (acting as their own governing body since UFC Fight Night 48 was held in China) after claiming “medical advice” convinced them Le’s elevated HGH levels after the fight did not conclusively prove performance-enhancing drug use.
Le put the fight community on notice by showcasing easily the most muscular physique he’s ever had leading up to the Bisping fight.
However, his improvements proved to be only aesthetic on fight night, as Bisping easily outstruck and outworked him before finishing the fight with a well-placed knee and subsequent punches in the fourth round.
Le has yet to commit to whether or not he will compete inside the cage again, while Bisping has a grudge match with Luke Rockhold set for UFC Fight Night 55 next month.
