Nate Diaz Responds to Being Removed from UFC Fighter Rankings

Former UFC title challenger Nate Diaz isn’t thrilled with being removed from the UFC’s official fighter rankings this week, pointing out that the current 155-pound champ hasn’t been all that active in the cage in recent memory.

The Stockton bad boy posted the record of Anthony Pettis’ last four fights on Instagram, which spanned from October 2011 and August 2013.

“Showtime” will also not compete again until December, since he is filming season 20 of The Ultimate Fighter opposite number one contender Gilbert Melendez.

For the basis of comparision, Diaz has stepped inside the Octagon seven times since April 2011.

Earlier in the week, UFC President Dana White confirmed that both Diaz and TJ Grant had been removed from the company’s official rankings due to inactivity.

Grant hasn’t fought since last Memorial Day Weekend and has no return date in sight after sustaining a head injury in training, so his removable isn’t really up for debate.

However, in Diaz’s case, he scored a TKO over Gray Maynard back in November, just six months ago.

White argued that the younger Diaz brother has turned down various fights since then and has not given a timetable for when he wants to compete again.

Diaz has won four of the past six fights, though is just 1-2 in his past three bouts, suffering lopsided losses to Benson Henderson and Josh Thomson.

Does Diaz bring up a valid point regarding Pettis or is one of the 209’s favorite sons just upset with his current predication with the promotion?
