Nick Diaz Wants to Give Johny Hendricks an ‘Ass-Whooping’

Former Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz hasn’t fought in a year and he was soundly defeated when he fought Georges St-Pierre for UFC gold at UFC 158 last March.

That doesn’t mean the Stockton bad boy doesn’t still have his sights set on a UFC championship.

In light of Johny Hendricks defeating Robbie Lawler for the vacant belt on Saturday, Diaz has already called out the new champion in an interview with “Showdown” Joe Ferraro.

“Johny Hendricks, take an ass-whooping right to your face, bro, worse than tonight. You got your ass whooped [by Lawler],” Diaz said.

“We don’t have no beef. I like Johny. I think he’s a nice guy. It’s all business, Johny. Let’s get a fight.”

While other fighters such as Miesha Tate and Chael Sonnen fought for UFC titles coming off losses in 2013, it would be precedent setting for Diaz to get another crack at UFC gold coming off of two losses.

Diaz has also fought for the interim UFC welterweight title, losing a controversial decision to Carlos Condit at UFC 143 in February 2012.

With that being said, the UFC’s current welterweight title picture is crowded with the likes of Hector Lombard, Tyron Woodley and Matt Brown all on the short list of fighters with win streaks who could next challenge for the strap.
