Report: UFC Champ Georges St-Pierre to Play Villain in Captain America Sequel

Looks like UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre will be making his big screen debut in the sequel to a blockbuster Marvel film just over one year from today.

According to a report by popular movie news site “The Latino Review,” St-Pierre will be playing a villain in “Captain America: The Winter Solider.” The film is set for an April 4, 2014.

Specifically, “Rush” will be playing the character of Batroc the Leaper. According to Latino Review, Batroc is an Olympic-level weightlifter with exceptional agility and reflexes.

A big factor working in GSP’s favor is probably the fact that Batroc is known for his “well-developed leg muscles,” “which enable him to leap great distances with the strength of an Olympic athlete.”

Furthermore, Batroc was a member of the French Foreign Legion and is an expert in hand-to-hand combat, with his specialty being savate, a French variation of kickboxing.

St-Pierre’s stock is at all-time high, setting the UFC record for consecutive welterweight title defenses (eight) following his victory over Nick Diaz at UFC 158.

The face of Canada’s Tristar Gym, has also won 11 fights in a row, not tasting defeat inside the cage in just under six years.

The French-Canadian, currently ranked number three on the UFC’s official pound-for-pound rankings, has already agreed that Johny Hendricks deserves the next shot at his belt, but a date and event have yet to be set just yet.

Should this announcement be true, does this mean GSP’s MMA career is winding down to an end in favor of a full-blown Hollywood career?
