UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey isn’t exactly a gambler’s dream since the undefeated fighter (7-0) is always such a heavy favorite to win.
However, according to the “Rowdy” one herself, that doesn’t stop her corner from betting $20,000 on the champ every time she has a fight.
Check out what Rousey told Fox Sports about the situation:
“My whole corner bets on me. They get mad at me because my odds always suck. They split like over 20 grand every fight because they believe in me,” she said.
“It doesn’t put any extra pressure on me. I’m like, ‘F*** yeah.’ My guys have so much faith in me they’ll put down 20 grand to win five.”
The 26-year-old is once again an overwhelming favorite when she rematches arch nemesis Miesha Tate at UFC 168 on Saturday, with oddsmakers deeming Rousey a 8-1 favorite.
When Tate and Rousey first squared off in March 2012, the former Olympic-level Judoka secured her trademark armbar in the first round.
Tate actually enters the title tilt coming off a loss, coming up short in a somewhat controversial TKO stoppage to Cat Zingano at The Ultimate Fighter Season 17 Finale in April.
Will the second time around net a different result or should fight fans expect a repeat performance from 19 months ago?
