Spike TV Announces the Cast for First Season of ‘Fight Master: Bellator MMA’

Spike TV has formally announced the 32-man cast for the upcoming reality series “Fight Master: Bellator MMA,” which premieres on Wednesday June 19 at 10 p.m., Eastern Time.

The network sent out a press release Monday afternoon, which eDraft received a copy of.

Coaches on the show include UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture, famed head trainer Greg Jackson, former UFC champ Frank Shamrock and former Bellator title holder Joe Warren.

The winner of the series, which will feature welterweight competitors, will earn a spot in the next Bellator Welterweight tournament. Under the Bellator banner, each tournament winner earns a $100,000 paycheck and a title shot.

One of the differences noted from the UFC’s reality series, “The Ultimate Fighter,” is that each fighter will pick which camp they want to train with and who their upcoming opponent will be.

Additionally, the 32 competitors will participate in qualifying bouts during the first three episodes of the season.

Another recognizable name is Chris Lozano, five-time Bellator fight veteran, though he only managed to compile a 2-3 record inside the promotion.

Finally, a hot prospect to watch is 22-year-old American Top Team product Steve Montgomery, who owns an eight-second knockout over TUF season 16 winner Colton Smith.

The series is set to feature 10 episodes that will run for one hour each.
