Tim Kennedy Now Meets Rafael Natal at UFC’s ‘Fight for the Troops 3’ in November

Lyoto Machida’s loss is Rafael Natal’s gain.

With Lyoto Machida removed from his “Fight for the Troops 3’ headlining bout with Tim Kennedy in favor of a bout with Mark Munoz, Natal keeps the United States Army veteran on the card. MMA Junkie reported the news first on Tuesday.

Kennedy went on a social media rampage after he heard he would no longer be fighting “The Dragon” on November 3, calling out a plethora of fighters including Wanderlei Silva, Chris Camozzi, Cung Le and of course Natal.

"Opportunity knocks @rafaelsaponatal," he wrote on Saturday. "You always win, but no one knows who you are. When I'm done with you, neither will you(Tough guy voice)"

Natal, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, is riding a three-fight win streak – also victorious in five of his past six bouts – with his sole blemish during that time being a loss to Andrew Craig at UFC on FUEL 4 last July.

Meanwhile, Kennedy, a two-time Strikeforce title challenger, has won eight of his past 10 fights, undefeated in non-title bouts since December 2007.

He made a successful Octagon debut at UFC 162 in July, defeating a top notch BJJ black belt in Roger Gracie via a lopsided decision.

As eDraft reported, Munoz was set to fight Michael Bisping at UFC Fight Night 30 on October 26, but “The Count” had to pull out of the fight after suffering a serious eye injury in training.

Machida moves back his middleweight debut by one week to square off with “The Filipino Wrecking Machine.”
