UFC News: Anderson Silva Says Chael Sonnen ‘Has Learned a Lesson’

UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva no longer has to deal with Chael Sonnen in or out of the cage anymore as the two-time middleweight title challenger has moved back up to light heavyweight.

That doesn’t mean “The Spider” didn’t have some verbal parting shots towards his arch nemesis in a recent interview with Tatame (translation via Opposing News).

"The barbecue at the house happened, but unfortunately he did not come," Silva said, who invited Sonnen to a cook out in Brazil after finishing him in the second round of their UFC 148 fight.

"It was a satisfaction, a sense of accomplishment. Brazil was placed where it really should be. Other athletes who are supposedly thinking about speaking ill of Brazilians and our culture, our people, will think twice. I think Chael has learned his lesson."

“You tell Anderson Silva that I’m coming over and I’m kicking down his back door and patting his little lady on the ass and I’m telling her to make me a steak, medium-rare, just how I like it,” Sonnen infamously said in an interview with Mauro Ranallo last October.

After the decisive victory, which made Silva a perfect 2-0 against “The American Gangster,” the champion had no problem having some fun with one of Sonnen’s old disses.

These days, Sonnen hasn’t considered Silva much more than an afterthought, focusing his verbal venom on UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones.

While Sonnen may not be the greatest talent to ever grace the Octagon, he has a UFC record of 6-5, his mic skills would make Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson blush.

Sonnen next takes on a former UFC light heavyweight champion in Forrest Griffin at UFC 155 and will no doubt be campaigning for a shot at Jones with a victory.

Meanwhile, Silva makes his third appearance as a light heavyweight when he takes on “The American Psycho” Stephan Bonnar in his native Rio de Janeiro, Brazil at UFC 153.
