UFC News: Flyweight Ian McCall Puts Light Heavyweight Rashad Evans on Blast

The flyweights of the UFC are known for their high-octane pace and non-stop action inside the Octagon instead of their trash talk, but Ian McCall made an exception when talking about former light heavyweight champ Rashad Evans.

“Uncle Creepy” tore Evans a new one when he appeared on MMA Mania’s “The Verbal Submission” radio show last week.

"I've even had run-ins or altercations with Rashad where he was just a d***. He just doesn't connect with fans. Even my nephew was like, 'Wow, that guy's an ass****,' and my nephew's like a kid at the time."

McCall was then more than happy to elaborate on his disdain for “Suga” when he talked about an incident back in his WEC days between himself, his brother, his nephew and Evans.

"I was fighting in the WEC when I fought Dominick Cruz in San Diego. We were walking to the lobby and my brother and nephew were there with like Jens Pulver and a few other guys. Jens puts his arm around everybody wanting to take a picture,” McCall said in the radio interview.

“My nephew asked Rashad specifically and he literally stood like 2-3 feet apart from everybody, not engaging with anyone. I don't know where the picture is now but it was a really awkward picture. I've heard from a lot of people that he's just standoffish and kinda rude.”

“You never know, he could be a great person in real life, but I'm just saying what I saw. That's what I saw," he concluded the story with.

McCall picked an interesting time to bring up his beef with Evans, considering they will both be fighting on the main card of UFC 156 this weekend.

McCall takes on Joseph Benavidez in a pivotal flyweight match up considering both fighters have recently lost to current divisional champion Demetrious Johnson.

Meanwhile, Evans looks to rebound from a decision loss to 205-pound kingpin Jon Jones in April when he squares off with former PRIDE star Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.
