UFC on FOX Sports 1: NO. 3 Adds Bader vs. Teixeira, Souza vs. Okami

While the first installment of UFC on FOX Sports 1 hasn’t happened yet, the third event in the series is shaping up for a stellar September card.

The event will more than likely be headlined by a light heavyweight clash between Ryan Bader and surging prospect Glover Teixeira, while Ronaldo Souza vs. Yushin Okami is being targeted for the co-main event.

Brazilian media outlet Portal do Vale Tudo first reported the news Sunday evening.

Teixeira, the number 3 light heavyweight in the UFC’s official rankings, boasts an incredible 19-fight win streak, including an unblemished 4-0 record in the Octagon.

The Brazilian has faced little opposition in his UFC outings against Kyle Kingsbury, Fabio Maldonado, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and James Te Huna.

A former Ultimate Fighter winner, Bader, the number 10 light heavyweight in the UFC’s official rankings, has won three of his past four bouts.

His sole loss during that time was an embarrassing second round knockout at the hands of former divisional champion Lyoto Machida at UFC on FOX 4 in August.

Bader and Teixeira were originally scheduled to meet at UFC 160, but "Darth" withdrew from the bout due to an injury and was replaced by Te Huna.

Meanwhile, Souza, a decorated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, made an impressive UFC debut at UFC on FX 8 last month, choking out Chris Camozzi with ease via an arm triangle choke.

He faces a stiff test in the wrestle-heavy approach of Yushin Okami, a former UFC title challenger who is riding a three-fight win streak which includes decisive wins over Alan Belcher and former Bellator champ Hector Lombard.

UFC on FOX Sports 1: No. 3 is set to take place in Belo Horizante, Minas Gerais, Brazil on September 4.
