Wanderlei Silva Compares UFC Contract to Slavery

Former PRIDE champion and UFC veteran Wanderlei Silva had entertained the idea of fighting old American rival Chael Sonnen under the XFC banner.

While “The American Gangster” said he wasn’t going to try and a find a loophole out of his two-year Nevada State Athletic Commission-issued suspension, Silva apparently was furious that UFC President Dana White wouldn’t have let him take the bout.

MMA Fighting’s Guilherme Cruz provided an English translation for use non-Portuguese speaking fans.

“The Axe Murderer” was issued a precedent-setting lifetime ban by the NSAC in September for refusing to take a random drug test back in May.

Silva hasn’t competed since scoring a vintage knockout over Brian Stann at UFC on FUEL 8 last March and retired shortly before his NSAC hearing.

However, he has since expressed an interest in returning to the cage under the right circumstances.

White, who has recently said that Silva would never get a UFC Hall of Fame induction after the two verbally sparred over UFC fighter pay, has not responded to the bold accusation as of this writing.
