Most people anticipated New Orleans Pelicans big man Anthony Davis to have a breakout campaign in 2015-16. Unfortunately for him and the Pelicans, it was an injury-ravaged season for Davis. The three-time All-Star missed 21 games to a multitude of injuries and was banged up throughout the vast majority of the season.
Now 100 percent healthy, Davis started his 2016-17 season with an absolute bang. Davis tallied 50 points, 16 rebounds, five assists, seven steals and four blocks in an absolutely dominating performance.
All said the MVP candidate, put up an absurd 95 fantasy points (FanDuel scoring). That's the single most points tallied in a FanDuel contest in the history of DFS basketball.
Moreover, Davis became just the third player since 2014-15 to put up even half the stat line he tallied on Wednesday night. Just think about that for a second.
Clearly, Davis has to now be considered an DFS dynamo. He was when on the court last season, but what we've seen through one game in the 2016-17 season suggests that will be ramped up a whole new level.
