Heading out of the All Star Break, Atlanta Hawks point guard Dennis Schroder's vacation will extend into the season. After Schroder returned late to the team and dealt with travel issues, the Hawks suspended their starting point guard for Friday's game against the Miami Heat.
Schroder, who has turned in a career season as a full-time starter for Atlanta, will see his absence come at a cost for the Hawks. This season, the 23-year-old point guard averages 17.6 points, 6.3 assists and 2.9 rebounds per night with a little over 30 minutes per game.
In his absence, Atlanta turns to 27-year-old Malcolm Delaney. Delaney averages around 19 minutes per night and been effective in those minutes across multiple categories. His per-36 minutes rate of 12 points, 5.5 assists and 1.1 steals shows his ability to contribute on both ends and make him worthy of consideration tonight in DFS given the uptick in minutes he should see.
Schroder will return to the lineup tomorrow night when the Hawks take on the Orlando Magic, fantasy owners can return him to their lineups then and expect his usual numbers.
