Boston Celtics Sign Al Horford to a Four-Year, $113 Million Contract

The Boston Celtics won a multi-team bidding war for four-time All-Star center Al Horford, signing him to a four-year, $113 million contract. Horford had played the first nine years of his career with the Atlanta Hawks, averaging 14.3 points and 8.9 rebounds while shooting 54 percent from the field during that span.

The big man is coming off a 2015-16 campaign that saw him 15.2 points and 7.3 rebounds while adding a career-best 3.2 assists and shooting at a 51 percent clip from the field.

In moving to Boston, Horford joins Isaiah Thomas and Avery Bradley in forming a dynamic inside-out duo. Add in rookie Jaylen Brown, and there's a whole heck of a lot of talent on the Celtics roster.

Though, from a fantasy perspective, we can expect to see Horford play a larger role on offense. He will be the team's primary go-to guy on the inside, something that wasn't necessarily the case in Atlanta with Paul Millsap on the roster.

Horford finished this past season as the sixth-best fantasy center in basketball. There's no reason to believe he won't enter the top five in 2016-17.
