There are a massive amount of NBA games tonight with fourteen on schedule, and an absolute insane FanDuel.com Tournament going down tonight in the $1.2 Million Dollar Daily Fantasy Basketball Championship. Due to tonight’s huge slate of games and the amount of options available I will be bringing you the Daily Fantasy Basketball Dime in a bit different fashion, Scrubs only. In order to take down a tournament like tonight’s Championship it is truly the sleepers in your lineup that will make the biggest difference in your team, and will also allow you to get some serious studs in as well. Therefore I bring you three scrubs at each position, all packed with plenty of upside.
Point Guard
Scrub – Jerryd Bayless, $4,300: Few things get better then a matchup versus the 76ers. With Avery Bradley still dealing with a sore Achilles Bayless could easily be in line for another start if Bradley cannot suit up for tonight’s game.
Scrub – Ray McCallum, $4,900: Isaiah Thomas is doubtful at best for tonight’s game which is going to open up a whole ton of minutes for McCallum once again. He has posted 36+ fantasy points in each of his last three games and with him seeing 40+ minutes on the floor there is no reason to think he cannot do it once again.
Scrub - Greivis Vasquez, $4,100: The status surrounding Kyle Lowry for tonight’s game is a bit murky at the moment but with it being a 7pm EST game we will know before lock if he is playing or not. If Lowry cannot make it a go tonight be sure to fire up Vasquez once again, even though it is a tough matchup versus the stout Pacers defense.
Shooting Guard
Scrub – Gary Neal, $3,500: In the last two games since returning from various ailments Neal has averaged 20 minutes each night and also averaged 18.1 fantasy points each night. He is going to continue to see only around 20 minutes but also happens to sit at minimum price tonight in a tasty matchup versus the Magic’s bench,
Scrub – Jordan Crawford, $3,500: Crawford played 16 minutes two games back and put up 23.8 fantasy points, he then played 34 minutes last game in an ugly blowout loss to the Spurs and put up 23.4 fantasy points. The Warriors could put the hurt on the Kings early leading to some extra minutes for Crawford tonight, and the Kings also happen to be the worst team in the league in defensive efficiency versus opposing shooting guards.
Scrub - Evan Fournier, $3,500: The Nuggets are down to Fournier and Quincy Miller at the small forward position and Miller has been ineffective at best. Fournier’s production has been a bit rocky but he has clearly shown his massive upside on multiple occasions this year.
Small Forward
Scrub – Caron Butler, $4,600: Until Thabo Sefolosha returns Butler will continue to get some extra minutes in the Thunder rotation. Add in the fact that the Thunder are on a back to back and Russell Westbrook will sit tonight’s game and Butler’s fantasy ceiling raises quite a bit.
Scrub – Jeremy Lamb, $3,500: Lamb makes the Dime tonight due the reason mentioned above in Westbrook sitting out tonight’s game. This opens up a few more minutes tonight for Lamb as well in a high scoring game versus the Rockets.
Scrub - Richard Jefferson, $4,000: You know you are going to get right around 30 minutes out of Jefferson on a nightly basis and tonight’s matchup is a good one versus the banged up Pelicans. Jefferson put up a nice 24.2 fantasy points versus them quite recently on March 28th and will look to have a solid outing once again tonight.
Power Forward
Scrub – Jordan Hill, $5,200: Hill can do from Scrub of the Night to a DNP Coach’s Decision in a flash in Mike D’Antoni’s wacky rotation. Hill’s upside is going to come down to the status of Pau Gasol and Chris Kaman tonight and his upside grows with each player missing tonight’ game.
Scrub – Cody Zeller, $3,600: Josh McRoberts is doubtful to play tonight and missed the Bobcats last game which opened up a start for Zeller. He responded by posting 22.1 fantasy points and easily paying of his salary.
Scrub - Anthony Tolliver, $3,500: Tolliver also picked up some extra playing time with McRoberts on the shelf and put up a big 32.1 fantasy points last game. If McRoberts does miss tonight’s game both Zeller and Tolliver are great value options once again.
Center
Scrub – Omer Asik, $4,600: There is no official word on Dwight Howard for tonight as I write this, but Asik becomes one of the better value plays tonight once again if Howard misses the game.
Scrub – Ronny Turiaf, $4,400: Turiaf played in his first game since February 19th last game out and put up a big 27.4 fantasy points. With Nikola Pekovic doubtful tonight Turiaf would get a big bump in value versus his former team the Heat if Pekovic cannot play.
Scrub - Chris Andersen, $4,400: The Birdman has been quietly and consistently scoring 20+ fantasy points in five of his last six games with two of those games being 30+ fantasy point nights.
Good luck tonight. Be sure to follow both @eDraftSports and me @Cui2iousGeoi2ge
