This Sunday brings us to nine games on the schedule with early lineups locking at 1 PM EST. Point Guard:
Star – Mike Conley, $6.900: The Grizzlies are still fighting for a playoff spot and currently sit in eighth in the Western Conference. Conley is coming off a big 36 fantasy point game versus the Nuggets and gets a matchup versus Tony Parker tonight, a player that has never been known for his defensive prowess.
Stud – Ray McCallum, $5,500: There is a decent chance at this point that Isaiah Thomas will not return to the rotation this season and McCallum has been stellar in his absence. In McCallum’s six starts in Thomas’s absence he has yet to post under 23 fantasy points and has three 36+ fantasy point games.
Scrub - Aaron Brooks, $5,400: Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson was seen in a walking boot on Friday leaving him quite doubtful for tonight’s tilt versus the Rockets. This will mean a start and the minutes to go along with it for Brooks tonight versus a Rockets team missing their talented point guard defender Patrick Beverley.
Early Bonus - Mario Chalmers, $5,100: With Dwyane Wade out for the Heat Chalmers will see in an increase in production and draws a great matchup versus the Knicks this afternoon.
Shooting Guard:
Star – Eric Bledsoe $6,800: The Thunder have been destroyed by opposing shooting guards since Thabo Sefolosha went down with injury and Bledsoe is the next guard on the list. Bledsoe being priced under $7,000 has a lot to do with his two subpar games in a row last week, but it is still a ridiculously low price for someone of his talent and upside. Coming off a 47.9 fantasy point night Bledsoe will be locked and loaded for another big night.
Stud – Anthony Morrow, $4,400: In Eric Gordon’s absence Morrow has really stepped up and has even posted two 30+ fantasy point games in his last three games. The Pelicans will likely be without Gordon once again tonight in a tasty matchup versus a porous Trail Blazers guard defense.
Scrub - Evan Fournier, $3,700: With the news about Lawson Fournier looks to see some more minutes in a banged up Nuggets rotation. Ignoring a couple rough games against the NBA’s toughest defenses in the Grizzlies and Spurs shows some nice production for Fournier lately. With him seeing a few more minutes tonight, being near minimum price and playing in a up tempo game versus the Rockets I become quite the fan, especially in tournaments.
Early Bonus - Jodie Meeks, $5,700: Meeks is nearly the only consistent thing in Lakers’ coach Mike D’Antoni’s rotations.
Small Forward:
Stud – Kevin Durant, $11,900: There is very little chance he falls outside the top three fantasy scores of the night and will likely be the top player in a fast paced game versus the Suns. If you can fit him, do it.
Stud – Chandler Parsons, $7,000: Without Dwight Howard in the lineup for the Rockets Parsons has seen a nice bump in production. The Nuggets also happen to be the second worst team in the NBA in defensive efficiency versus opposing small forwards over the last ten games.
Scrub - Draymond Green, $4,900: If David Lee misses tonight’s game it will be tough to keep Green out of your lineups with him posting 26+ fantasy points in five of his last six games. Lee did some light practice on Saturday and is still questionable for tonight’s game.
Early Bonus - LeBron James, $10,000: James gets the nod over Kevin Durant today if you are playing early due to the fact he is $1,900 cheaper heading into a game versus a Knicks team he has dominated this season.
Power Forward:
Star – Dirk Nowitzki, $8,100: Nowitzki is doing his darndest to personally carry the Mavericks into the playoffs and they currently have a one game lead over the Grizzlies putting them in seventh place. The Kings also happen to be one of the worst teams in the NBA versus opposing power forwards.
Stud – Kenneth Faried, $8,100: In the Nuggets last game Faried got two quick first quarter fouls and only finished the game with 24 minutes played, yet he still posted 31.4 fantasy points. Faried continues to be a stud to end the season and will continue his high level of play tonight versus the Rockets.
Scrub - Marreese Speights, $3,800: Not for the early lineups as you certainly need some news about Lee and Andrew Bogut. If both miss tonight’s game get Speights into your lineup once again.
Early Bonus - Jordan Hill, $5,600: Both Chris Kaman and Pau Gasol are ruled out for this afternoon’s game quickly shoving Hill into must start territory at his price.
Center:
Star – Marc Gasol, $7,300: Gasol posts nice and consistent numbers making him a 50/50 gem, but he does not carry enough upside for tournament play.
Stud – Omer Asik, $5,100: With Howard already confirmed out Asik becomes one of the better value plays available today versus a Nuggets front court giving up big numbers to most everyone.
Scrub – Jermaine O’Neal $4,100: Another one not for the early lineups unless you know Bogut news before the one pm lock. If Bogut misses tonight’s game O’Neal makes for some great value, even if Lee plays.
Early Bonus - DeAndre Jordan, $7,800: No chance the Lakers stop him, or even slow him down.
