Today marks exactly one week remaining in the regular season, with next Wednesday finishing it up on a massive 15 game slate. Point Guard
Star – Kyrie Irving, $8,900: Irving is coming off a massive 67.4 fantasy point performance. Although it is quite unlikely he repeats that tonight, clearly he is playing some great basketball and a matchup versus the Pistons is a great one.
Stud – Jeremy Lin, $6,100: Two games back the Rockets faced Denver and Lin put up a solid 31.9 fantasy points, he then followed that up with a solid game versus the abysmal Lakers. As long as Patrick Beverley remains out tonight fire up Lin versus that same Nuggets team tonight.
Scrub – Aaron Brooks, $5,800: With the Nuggets being without Ty Lawson Brooks will step up into the starting lineup tonight once again. In the Nuggets last game Brooks put up 55.1 fantasy points versus his former team the Rockets, the same team he plays tonight.
Shooting Guard
Star – James Harden $10,100: Harden makes the plays two days in a row now. Houston’s easy victory over the Lakers only forced him to play 32 minutes and he has now posted 50+ fantasy points three games in a row. UPDATE: Watch the news as the Rockets head coach has stated he may be resting some of his studs.
Stud – Anthony Morrow, $4,800: At this point it looks as though Eric Gordon is done for the year, which will continue to give Morrow plenty of minutes on the floor. He has scored 23+ fantasy points his last four games, with two of those games being 30+ fantasy point nights.
Scrub - Evan Fournier, $3,900: The injury situation in Denver is causing Fournier to log some heavy minutes right now and he is coming off a big 34.8 fantasy point game versus the same Rockets team he plays tonight.
Small Forward
Stud – Chandler Parsons, $7000: Believe it or not, I really like the Denver versus Houston game to target tonight. The lowest total points scored in a matchup between these teams this season is 233 and, as always, the more point scored the more fantasy points scored. UPDATE: Same as Harden.
Stud – Jeff Adrien, $6,300: Adrien continues to log some massive minutes for the Bucks and his fantasy point totals have been reaping the benefits. Tonight he plays a tough defense in the Pacers, but both of his last two successful games have been against tough defenses too.
Scrub - Travis Outlaw, $3,500: The Kings have nothing left to play for this season so Rudy Gay has no reason to rush back tonight. He missed last night’s game with a minor ailment and his wife is going to go into labor at anytime, which will cause him to leave the team for a few days. This gives Outlaw all sorts of positive signs towards another opportunity to shine tonight. He scored 35 fantasy points in 37 minutes last night.
Power Forward
Star – Paul Millsap, $8,400: Millsap did not look to be bothered by his thumb last night on his way to 24 points and 12 rebounds. Tonight he gets another solid matchup versus a banged up and undersized Celtics frontcourt.
Stud – Terrence Jones, $5,900: A price tag under $6,000 does no justice to a player of Jones’ talent and fantasy upside as he proved last night versus the Lakers. Great matchup again tonight in that Denver versus Rockets game I may have mentioned previously in this article. Update: Same as Harden/Parsons.
Scrub - Mason Plumlee, $4,400: In last night’s Nets’ game Andray Blatche was an unexpected scratch leaving Plumlee with some more minutes, and some more fantasy points. Kevin Garnett is likely to return tonight, but should not play more then around 15 minutes. This leaves Plumlee with all sorts of minutes once again in a solid matchup versus the Magic.
Center
Star – Henry Sims, $5,900: Sims continues to log most of the 76ers minutes at center and continues to be productive with those minutes. His price has yet to reflect the 24+ fantasy points in eight of his last nine games, nor the 30+ fantasy points in five of those games.
Stud – Pero Antic, $4,500: Although Antic may not be pretty to watch on the floor, his production is paying off his price.
Scrub – Kelly Olynyk $4,400: With Kris Humphries already ruled out tonight Olynyk will likely see 20+ minutes once again. In each of his last three games he has 20+ minutes, and 20+ fantasy points.
Sleeper Update:
The Indiana Pacers will rest their entire starting lineup tonight which makes their starting five tonight consist of Donald Sloan, Evan Turner, Rasual Butler, Luis Scola and Ian Mahinmi.
