Daily Fantasy Basketball Dime- May 2, 2014

Surprisingly enough all three teams with their backs against the wall last night managed to force a game seven.  This has been one of the most exciting first rounds of the NBA playoffs in league history.  Tonight brings us to three more playoff games and three more teams with a three to two series deficit, which will bring another thrilling night of NBA action.  If you are not playing daily fantasy basketball over at FanDuel.com stop missing out and click the eDraft link to sign up.  This link also gives you a 100% deposit bonus on your initial deposit at FanDuel.com!

Point Guard

Star – Damian Lillard, $7,800: Lillard continues to play like a seasoned veteran this playoff series and is coming off a big 52.1 fantasy point performance.  During round one Lillard is averaging 44.4 fantasy points a game and a price under $8k is a steal.

Scrub – Greivis Vasquez, $5,200:  Coming off the bench for the Raptors Vasquez continues to excel versus the second unit of the Nets.  Ignoring a game three dud Vasquez has scored 24+ fantasy points a game and will keep up his high level of play tonight.

Shooting Guard

Stud – DeMar DeRozen $7,500: DeRozen has stepped up his offense for the Raptors and has scored 43+ fantasy points in two of their last three games.  The Raptors would prefer to avoid a game seven and will look to close out the Nets tonight behind their breakout player in DeRozen.

Scrub - Manu Ginobli, $5,400:  Quite easily the top dollar for dollar play tonight as Ginobli is averaging 32 fantasy points a game this series.  He remains underpriced due to his injury woes and minute’s restrictions during the regular season so take advantage of this price before round two.

Small Forward

Star – Nicolas Batum, $7,800: It would be nice if Batum was priced a few dollars less, but small forward is a tricky position tonight making him worth paying for.  He has averaged 40 fantasy points a game over his last three and his ability to fill the stat sheet allows him to rack up fantasy points in a hurry.

Stud - Paul Pierce, $6,100:  Pierce forgot how to play basketball last game and will be in for a bounce back game tonight.  He has played well this series and his veteran mindset will not allow roll over and die in a must win game tonight.

Power Forward

Star – Tim Duncan $7,800: In a similar situation as the other Spurs stars, Duncan remains underpriced due to coach Popovich’s rotations during the regular season.  Duncan finished last game with 39.9 fantasy points and will put in another big performance tonight as the Spurs look to finish off the Mavericks.

Scrub - Patrick Patterson, $4,800: Patterson and Amir Johnson share plenty of minutes in the frontcourt for the Raptors and are priced quite similarly tonight.  Patterson has been a nice low-end source of consistent fantasy points and Johnson has been a roller coaster ride of production.  For tournament play look to Johnson, but in 50/50’s and H2H’s Patterson makes a more consistent play.

Center

Stud – Dwight Howard, $8,700:  Howard had his worst game of the series last time out and still finished with 46.8 fantasy points.  The fact that he remains priced under $9k is a blessing from FanDuel.com and he should be the first player into your lineups tonight.

Stud – Tiago Splitter $5,200: In two of Splitter’s last three games he has scored at least 36 fantasy points as the undersized Mavericks frontcourt has been unable to slow him down on offense or on the glass.  If for whatever reason Howard will not fit into your lineups plans for the night Splitter will help you same some salary cap.
