Those fantasy basketball players concerned about Derrick Rose's long-term viability shouldn't be too worried anymore. Rose rejoined the New York Knicks on Tuesday altering being AWOL from the team's game on Monday night.
Knicks head coach Jeff Hornacek revealed on Monday that Rose wouldn't play against the New Orleans Pelicans. He wouldn't get into detail regarding Rose's absence, only to say that the Knicks had not heard from him. This came on the heels of Rose being benched in the fourth quarter of the previous game.
Now that Rose is back with the team and was not suspended for his actions, it stands to reason he will retake the Knicks starting point guard job Wednesday against the Philadelphia 76ers. Though, there's also a chance that Hornacek will decide that further punishment is needed internally.
If Rose is a go against the Sixers, he'll be a reliable DFS play. Philly ranks in the middle of the pack against fantasy points guards. Meanwhile, Rose himself is averaging 17.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game in his first season in New York.
