With the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference pretty much locked up, the Golden State Warriors will go into resting mode here over the final week of the season.
That starts Wednesday against the hapless Suns in Phoenix with both Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala resting. Neither player is injured. Instead, it's just Steve Kerr deciding to rest two of his most valuable players.
Normally, we'd be calling on a higher usage rate for Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson here. But considering Golden State is playing a team with the worst record in the Western Conference and has the top spot pretty much locked up, that might not be the case.
Kerr has made a point of resting these two players at specific times in games. They won't automatically take on larger minutes with Green and Iggy out of action.
Instead, expect an uptick in minutes from Matt Barnes, David West and Ian Clark here. Of those three, West is playing at a higher level recently. He's averaging about 10.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists over the past four games.
