Both Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo will be game-time calls Monday evening when their Chicago Bulls take on the Detroit Pistons.
Wade was held out of practice on Sunday with a thigh injury after putting up a disastrous 2-of-11 shooting performance against the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday evening. The veteran has been banged up all season, but this appears to be a completely different injury.
As it relates to Rondo, he's dealing with an ankle injury he suffered against the Clippers. Despite falling out of favor in his first season with the Bulls, Rondo has played 20-plus minutes in nine of his past 10 games.
If Rondo is indeed out of action, recent acquisition Cameron Payne should see some extended minutes. The former Oklahoma City guard is averaging 4.5 points in 13 minutes of action in four games with the Bulls.
Meanwhile, Wade's potential absense could lead to more production from Michael Carter-Williams who has been a surprising performer for the Bulls this season. MCW is averaging 8.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per game on the season.
