One of the most promising rookies early on in the NBA season, Sacramento Kings rookie point guard De'Aaron Fox will draw the start on Saturday against the Detroit Pistons. Point guurd George Hill, the Kings' regular starter, will miss Saturday's game for personal reasons. As a result, Fox should see a heavy workload.
Some might look away from Fox after his first resulted in a disappointing 1-for-8 shooting performance with four turnovers, two points and five assists. Given the hype that surrounded him off his play before that game, many DFS owners were burned by Fox's poor play back on Oct. 29. But this is an opportunity DFS players will want to take advantage of.
Fox should see 30-plus minutes on Saturday night and with that should come frequent opportunities to score and dish out some assists. Fox's 12.5 points per game, 5.1 assists per game and 4.1 rebounds per game averages are made even better when you look at his per-36 minutes. In eight games this season, Fox averages 16.7 points, 6.8 assists and 5.5 rebounds per game on a per-36 minute basis.
The minutes should be perfect for Fox tonight and the matchup makes it even better. Detroit ranks in the bottom 10 against opposing points guards both on FanDuel and DraftKings, they don't have the type of point guards who can match up against Fox either. Given Fox's speed and the shooters around him, this could be a very strong game for Fox and makes him a must in DFS tonight.
