After a short absence due to elbow and neck injuries, the Denver Nuggets expect shooting guard Gary Harris to return on Friday against the Portland Trail Blazers. Nuggets coach Mike Malone told reporters the team expects Harris to play after he participated fully in the team's shootaround.
Harris returns to face Portland, a great matchup for shooting guards. Across the entire season, Portland allows the 11th-most FanDuel points against (46.4) to opposing shooting guards. But Portland's defense versus opposing guards grew even worse over the past 10 games with the second-most FanDuel points per game (60.5).
On the year, Harris holds a 19.9 usage percentage and his involvement in the Nuggets' offense is only on the rise. The 23-year-old exploded in the month of December with averages of 19.2 points, 4.8 assists, 3.6 rebounds and two steals per game. Those numbers are substantially better than the 14 points and two assists per game he averaged in October and November.
Harris makes for a great play in DFS tonight and fantasy owners in season-long leagues should be sure to plug him back into their lineups. Given his ability to be amongst the lead leaguers in steals, score 20-plus points and dish out some assists, he is a top-50 player in season0long leagues going forward. One of the game's most promising and young guards, Harris' return to the court is great news for the NBA and the Nuggets.
