The major prize in Thursday's deal between the Chicago Bulls and Oklahoma City Thunder has to be Taj Gibson. As we noted before, he will likely take over as the Thunder's starting power forward. In this, Gibson should see a nice little uptick in fantasy production.
Though, the true wild card in this deal has to be Doug McDermott heading to OKC. The sharp-shooting former lottery pick is shooting at a 40 percent clip from three-point range during his three-year NBA career. Just imagine the open looks McDermott will get with Russell Westbrook manning the point in Oklahoma City.
Thus far this season, McDermott is averaging 10.2 points while shooting at a 38 percent clip from distance.
It's going to be interesting to see how the Thunder work McDermott into the mix. A small forward by trade, his minutes could be impacted by the presence of Andre Roberson and Jerami Grant. Then again, McDermott could also moves to the two, spelling Victor Oladipo at times.
As it is, expect him to see somewhere near the 25 minutes he played per game in Chicago. On a better team with more offensive weapons, that will likely equate to some sort of fantasy relevance, at least from a DFS perspective.
