In the final minutes of Monday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans, the Golden State Warriors received a scare. Point guard Stephen Curry rolled his ankle and hobbled off the court then wore a walking boot in the locker room after the game. While tests revealed Curry avoided a significant injury, he is doubtful to play on Wednesday night against the Charlotte Hornets.
If Curry indeed misses Wednesday's game, veteran point guard Shaun Livingston will start in his place. Livingston, who served a one-game suspension on Monday, would make his second start of the season. In his lone start this season, Livingston played 20 minutes and finished the night with 16 points, six assists, two rebounds and a steal.
Livingston would become a compelling DFS value target with the start, especially against a Hornets team that allowed the eighth-most DFS points to opposing point guards over the last 10 games. With extended run and his ability as a scorer and distributor, Livingston could provide significant ROI for users on DraftKings and FanDuel.
Forward Kevin Durant would also see extended usage if Curry misses Wednesday's game, making one of the best DFS plays in the NBA even better.
When more information becomes available on Curry's status, we'll provide it.
