In what amounts to as nothing less than a salary dump, the Atlanta Hawks sent home-town boy Dwight Howard packing to the Charlotte Hornets after just one season with the team.
Atlanta also yields the 31st pick in Thursday's draft in exchange for the 41st pick, big man Miles Plumlee and veteran wing Marco Belinelli.
Howard put in a solid statistical season for Atlanta, averaging 13.5 points and 12.7 rebounds while shooting 63 percent from the field. But he didn't add much on offense, pretty much the same role we saw during his three seasons with the Houston Rockets.
At this point, Howard's fantasy value is pretty much maxed out due to an inability to score at an elite level. That won't change with the Hornets. However, we can expect Kemba Walker to see an uptick in production with Howard's offensive rebounding prowess. He tallied 4.0 offensive boards per game this past season.
