We have completed our look at the Dream Team and the Spanish Team and in each instance two players were shown to have fantasy value while two players were identified as potential busts. France’s team is comprised of some NBA talent, however most of the talent on loan from the Association are fringe fantasy players; except for two players who will bring your fantasy team some valuable points.
Tony Parker is still showing that he can ball with the best of them. Parker is coming off a solid 2011 campaign that saw him post 18 points per game to go along with 7.7 assists per contest and increase that scoring average to 20 points per game in the playoffs. Tony Parker seems to be healthy and brimming with confidence as he continues his excellent play in leading France through the preliminary rounds. Look for Tony Parker to hit the NBA hardwood running and watch for him to post some impressive numbers early. If you are playing daily leagues, run Parker out there early and often as he looks to be in great shape and has definitely found his scoring touch.
Nicolas Batum has gotten quite a bit of media run this off season, and considering his new four year 46.5 million dollar contract he should get used to a bit more attention both from the media and opposing teams. Portland is confident they know what they're getting when they signed this athletic 6’8” small forward and no one in Portland will be satisfied with only seeing 14 points per game and less than 5 rebounds per outing. The Blazers have made some serious moves this off season and these will provide Batum with room to grow and contribute as a player. Batum may not live up to his contract value in the first year, but look for him to be a fantasy bargain. Batum could likely be added to a roster on the cheap in comparison to other more well-known small forwards, but look for his value to increase as the season unfolds.
Argentina is up next as we look at one of the more underrated fantasy players out there and how new surroundings may add to his fantasy worth.
