When Los Angeles Clippers guard Chris Paul suffered torn ligaments in his thumb in the middle of June, the expectation was that he would be out six-to-eight weeks. That was only magnified when Paul himself had to undergo surgery.
Now, about five weeks removed from surgery, Paul has been medically cleared and has returned to Clippers practice. There's now a chance he will suit up in the team's first post All-Star Break game against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday.
This is absolutely huge news for a Clippers team that has posted a 6-7 record in the 13 games that Paul has missed.
From a fantasy perspective, it is also pretty big news.
Paul was averaging 17.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 9.7 assists and 2.2 steals at the time of the injury. If he's able to go on Thursday his initial matchup will be against two-time reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry.
