The good news for the Milwaukee Bucks and fake basketball owners out there is that Jabari Parker's ACL surgery took place on Tuesday and was considered a success. The bad news here? He's still expected to be out 12 months while rehabbing from the injury.
It's Parker's second ACL injury in three seasons and places a ton of questions on his ability to stand up over the long term moving forward. Parker himself was having a tremendous third season in the NBA, averaging 20-plus points and six-plus rebounds per game.
Unfortunately, Parker came down lame in a game against the Miami Heat on February 8th. After initially being called a sprained knee, further tests show that he did in fact suffer a torn ACL. Outside of that tear, there's no other structural damage to the knee. Again, glass half full here.
With Parker sidelined for the remainder of the season and at least until the All-Star Break of the 2017-18 campaign, the Bucks are going to ask Khris Middleton to make much more of an impact from a scoring standpoint. Middleton just returned this month from injury after missing the first three months of the season.
