Updating a note from earlier in the week, Toronto Raptors All-Star guard Kyle Lowry underwent successful surgery on his injury wrist on Tuesday and is expected to miss 4-5 weeks.
The team announced that the procedure went well during a press conference with reporters on Wednesday.
Lowry, 30, was averaging 22.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 6.9 assists per game at the time of the injury. In reality, he was in the midst of yet another career performance.
With Lowry out of action until the end of the regular season, Delon Wright and Cory Joseph will share the point guard duties. The two combined for 11 points, four rebounds and five assists in Monday's narrow win over the New York Knicks.
More than anything, this simply means that top-end fantasy stud DeMar DeRozan will continue to put up the necessary points to be relied on as the final quarter of the season comes calling.
