Out since late February with a sprained MCL, it looks like Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant will return for the final three games of the regular season. The Warriors are targeting Durant's return for Saturday night's home game against the New Orleans Pelicans. This would give the former MVP three games to prepare for the playoffs.
This also means that Durant will sit for the next two games (Tuesday against Minnesota and Wednesday's final road game against the Phoenix Suns). With Durant still out of action in those two games, look for Andre Iguodala to continue seeing an uptick in usage. Once Durant returns, Iggy, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson will all see a downtick in viability from a DFS perspective. That's only magnified should Golden State clinch the No. 1 seed out west before the season finale next Wednesday against the Lakers.
As it relates to Durant, don't look for a whole bunch from him when it comes to the DFS world. Sure he's averaging 25.3 points, 8.2 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game. He's also slated to be on a minuts restriction from the remainder of the regular season. With Golden State 3.5 games ahead of San Antoni out west, it's highly unlikely Durant's minutes will come anywhere near 30-plus in the final three games.
