Utah Jazz guard Rodney Hood had to leave Saturday's game against the Orlando Magic with what Jazz head coach Quin Snyder is calling a hyperextended knee. The play occurred in the fourth quarter with the Jazz running the break. Hood could be seen clutching for his knee while screaming in pain as he made his way to the floor. He had to be helped to the locker room.
Snyder would add that hopefully the injury "is not serious."
This all took place in an otherwise tremendous performance from Utah, who now stands at a season-best 10 games over .500 following a 114-107 win over Orlando.
Hood would finish the night with 14 points on 6-of-14 shooting. The Duke product is averaging 14.0 points per game this season and has been a pretty decent surprise around the fantasy basketball world.
Should Hood miss extended time, look for Joe Ingles and Alec Burks to pick up more time in his stead. The two combined for 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting Saturday night.
